This amazing desk was one of the biggest restoration jobs I’ve ever undertaken – as you’ll see in the next photo. There were 30 interior drawers, 8 cubby holes and 1 door that all needed re-polishing.
The polish had faded in places, making the mahogany unrecognisable to the human eye.
Damage to the wooden drawer handle.
Look at the quality of panelling on the back.
After stripping everything back to bare wood, I re-stained the surface to the original mahogany colour.
Several of the inner drawers needed new knobs turning..
and the damaged handle had to be repaired (below).
Repaired and restored roll-top desk back home where it belongs!
